Ten Fun Gifts for RV'ers

RV'ers sometimes don't have the space for conventional gifts. Give these fun gifts and make their travels memorable.

Taking on the RV lifestyle is fun. It doesn't take long for the new RV'er to realize the motorhome or trailer isn't as big inside as it looked at the dealership. You can't take everything with you.

For friends and family, this poses an interesting dilemma. Choosing useful gifts is great until the threshold is reached. That's when the RV'er has everything needed for the trip and RV living.

Give fun gifts next and make the RV'ers adventures fun. Some of these gifts are fun, some are practical, and some are both.

Digital Camera:

Many people still use film-style cameras. You have to find a place to have the film developed, copies made, and mail the prints to everyone.

Giving a digital camera and writing the instructions on paper in readable letters allows the RV'er to take pictures and send them online.

Not all Grandparents are computer or electronic savvy.

Funky Flames:

Never have a boring outdoor campfire. Toss some granules into your non-cooking fire and watch multi-colored flames for a half hour display.

These non-toxic granules burn safely and cleanly. Sing songs around a colorful campfire. Funky Flames are available online, and they aren't expensive.

Funny T-Shirts:

"Shut up and drive," a t-shirt with brown splotches that says something like "I just dumped my RV," and more are cute gifts for your RV'ers. T-shirts are practical. If they don't want to wear them in public, they can wear them inside the RV.

There's even a t-shirt for the RV'ing dog. Find these cute short and long sleeve shirts at this link. My favorite is "Eat.Sleep.RV."

Write Lights:

RV'ers pull into the park, level the vehicle, unroll the awning and sit outside. Stringing patio lights makes the space inviting. Now they can take a little bit of home with them, using Write Lights. Each person writes their name or a personalized message on one of the globes, then gives it to the RV'er.

For Grandparents, having messages from the grandkids on their travels is priceless. Send a string to someone in the military- they may be able to hang it in their dorm room or in their tent.

Cake Candelabra:

Since a lot of RV'ers are retired or nearing retirement, having a birthday cake that looks like an overexcited porcupine is depressing. I mean, when I reached 50, my smoke detector nearly went off.

I like a little style, so when I saw this cake candelabra, I knew it would adorn my next birthday cake. It will also make appearances at dinner parties. In an RV, there isn't a lot of space or opulence, so bring a little with you.

Mini Condiment Picnic Table:

When setting up a picnic table, I like to have a place for all my condiments. This mini condiment picnic table keeps everything in one, neat place. Even more fun, there's no doubt about what goes where.

Solar ID:

To help your RV'ers define their space, make sure they have a Solar ID. This unique ID system features a solar light that accents a personalized flag, letting everyone know who lives in the RV. A flag that says "Grandma and Grandpa's RV," would be perfect.

Whimsical Camper Keychains:

This keychain features a fifth wheel all set up with satellite antenna, picnic table, awning and door mat. The saying "Home Sweet Home" is emblazoned on the front. Many more unique and cute items are available at this particular store, all at affordable prices.

Bumper Nuts:

For a fun gift, make sure your RV'er has a sense of humor. These bumper nuts hang off the hitch, and sway when you drive. It tells everyone you have more than just a backbone.

Pink Flamingos:

Nothing is as recognizable in lawn decorations as a pink flamingo. There's no reason to hit the road without them. This site carries just about everything with flamingos on it, even toilet paper. Have fun with your RV'er, and send them off with a little bit of home.

Your gifts will be the talk of the campground or RV park. Anyone can buy a practical gift, but it takes thought and love to give one that's fun.
