"Sister Hazel" to Play Free Concert on August 18, 2020 in Suwanee, Georgia

American alternative rock band, "Sister Hazel," will play a free concert at 7 pm on August 18, 2020 at the amphitheater in Suwanee Town Center Park, just outside Atlanta.

"Sister Hazel" recently released their album entitled, "Absolutely," and many believe this 13-track record is their best effort yet. According to band members, lyrics have always been of utmost importance and the cuts on this project demonstrate this, as well as their commitment to achieving the "live show vibe" within a studio setting. Interestingly, the studio in which three top-notch music producers came together to record the band's hit album, is very unique. The rural setting of Dark Horse Studios, located in the hills of Franklin, Tennessee, provided an exceptionally creative environment with minimal distractions. Fans will be excited when they experience the variety of emotions evoked by the band's most recent songs. Lead vocalist and acoustic guitarist, Ken Block, says that he returned to the house in which he was raised in Gainesville, Florida, to write many of the lyrics in an attempt to get back to his roots. The band recorded over 70 demos, in a warehouse only a few blocks from the first club they ever played, before it headed to TN to record the final 13 tracks.

Charity has always been a quality for which "Sister Hazel" has been recognized. They have raised over a half million dollars through efforts like their Lyrics for Life Foundation that generates funds to help children and adults who are battling cancer. Well-known acts, such as Elton John, Tim McGraw, Jessica Simpson, Kid Rock, "Bare Naked Ladies," "REM," "Aerosmith," "Stone Temple Pilots," and the "Beastie Boys," have performed at the 5 or 6 annual fund-raising concerts hosted by "Sister Hazel."

In addition to front man, Ken Block, other members of the band include drummer, Mark Trojanowski, bassist, Jeff Beres, vocalist and rhythm guitarist, Drew Copeland, as well as, lead guitarist, Ryan Newell. Newell's wife, Jenn Hobby, is the host of the WE television show, "Get Married!" and Ryan wrote and performed the introductory score for the popular series that features celebrity weddings.

Directions: from Atlanta take I-85 to the GA Hwy 317/Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road exit and proceed north to Buford Highway (also known as US Hwy 23). Follow signs for Suwanee Town Center Park. Map-
